Karl E. Mellon
Mr. Mellon has over 20 years of international business development experience, working with the Irish Government's economic investment & development agency Shannon Ireland. During his tenure with Shannon Ireland Mr. Mellon lead its investment effort setting up the West Coast office in Silicon Valley California. Concentrating primarily in the high technology industries, Mr. Mellon successfully negotiated investments in Ireland with a large number of US private and public companies including Basis Communications, now Intel Networking Group (NASDAQ: INTC), Mentor Graphics (NASDQ: MENT), Veritas Software (NASDAQ: VRTS), Gymboree (NASDAQ: GYMB) and Hamilton Sundstrand now a subsidiary of United Technologies (NYSE: UTX). Before joining Shannon Ireland Mr. Mellon held a number of corporate positions with the Irish Trade Board in Europe & the US providing consulting services to small and medium size enterprises. Mr. Mellon started his career as an Economist with one of Europe's leading research companies, the Economic & Social Research Institute (E.S.R.I) based in Dublin. Mr. Mellon has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Masters degree in International Business from University College Dublin, Ireland.
